It was great to team up with Ballymena United FC today to celebrate World Book Day 2026.
First Team players Donal Rocks and Brad Wade, alongside fitness coach Glenn Wilkinson and Club Chairman Chris Selwood, joined the Primary Six and Seven classes for a World Book Day to remember!
The day began with the first team players and staff taking part in a press conference with a difference. The players and staff were grilled by pupils on a wide range of topics including; toughest opponents, childhood memories, healthy lifestyle and who was their favourite book character!
The tables were then turned, as pupils then took on the role of being interviewed. Pupils were asked a range of questions about their favourite books and love of reading.
With the pre match press conferences concluded, the pupils then took part in a range of fun football drills and games alongside the Ballymena United players.
We would like to thank the staff and players at Ballymena United FC for joining us today and inspiring our children to read, be active and develop important life skills. Our thanks for the generous gifts of a signed shirt, footballs and range of reading books to celebrate World Book Day. We wish the players all the best for this Saturday's big game!

It was a pleasure to show Mr Freeburn, Strategic Support Officer within the EA Controlled School Unit (CSU), around our school. He spent time with pupils from all 11 classes and got firsthand experience of our school vision: ‘Learning and Achieving Together.’
